The theology behind the light

The Foundation — John 8:12

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness."

— Jesus, John 8:12

This is the verse that started everything. Jesus does not say He brings light. He says He is the light.

Grace Oversized — Ephesians 2:8

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. It is the gift of God."

— Paul, Ephesians 2:8

Grace means that salvation is entirely outside of you. It is a gift which cannot be earned.

The Word Tee — Matthew 5:16

"Let your light shine before others."

— Jesus, Matthew 5:16

The light is already there. The command is simply not to hide it.
